David "Chino" Villorente is a freelance artist, graphic designer and author. Considered one of the foremost practitioners and ambassadors of graffiti art in the world. His reign as the ten-year editor of both the "Bomb Shelter" and "Graf Flix" graffiti features in The Source magazine cemented his position as an important arbiter within the graffiti community, lecturing widely on the art of graffiti. His written work has appeared in magazines such as Mass Appeal, Complex, Vibe and YRB, while his firsthand knowledge of the graffiti culture; past, present and future players makes him an indispensable source for dozens of other publications. Clients for his design and mural work include Sprite, Converse, Miller Light beer, VH1, Adidas, Paris Hilton, Betsey Johnson, Turner Network Television, Reebok, Ecko Unlimited, and many others. Villorente recently coauthored his first two books: Mascots & Mugs -The Characters and Cartoons of Subway Graffiti (Testify Books) and Piecebook (Prestel USA). David continues to reside in his native borough of Brooklyn, New York.
