Ever since childhood CR has been drawn to typography, not only by it's
form but also the context it exists in and the different mediums used
to execute the work. After going through the stages of studying type
and learning that it is only when one fully understands the rules,
that one may begin to break them, was something that stuck in his
head. It is through this mentality that CR has gone on to deconstruct
the letterform into what is recreated as his own form of typography.
People like to call it pop art and maybe it is. His style of execution
is rapid, often starting out with a single line. Once the fluid forms
take shape, a certain mood is born that gives the piece character and
thus creating another layer of language for the viewer to make up as
he/she wishes to interpret. Carl Rauschenbach currently lives and
