Lauren Javor

Lauren Javor stubbornly refuses to grow up. She plays on the mountains in the Whistler Valley every day, and gets messy with paint late into the nights. She enjoys the small things in life; fresh powder on the mountain; taking things apart; bubble tea; fluoro pink paint; looking at bugs under the microscope; and books on theoretical physics for the layman.

Educated at Carleton University in Ottawa in Industrial Design (essentially product design), she developed a passion for altering the elements of our surroundings in order to enhance people’s moods. Following her formal education, she became inspired by the emotions that people wear on their faces and started to draw them. Fascinated by the realization that the simple shape of a line on paper or canvas could become a person with a history and emotions, she began painting people.
